Siri Marine is contracted by DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering) to install a temporary motion monitoring system on a new FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading) unit. The system will be used for monitoring the motions of the FPSO during the tow from the yard in Korea to the final destination in Angola, and consists of two motion sensors, a DGPS unit and a wind meter. Measured data is wireless transferred to the tug, for decision support purposes, data storage and post processing. Voyage reporting by Siri Marine will be conducted from the office in Appingedam. Tow voyage is expected to start in August 2013 and will take appr. 11 weeks.
